Sancha, Cinnamon, Pennywort and Energy

We talked with Sancha on the high mountain with the Himalayas as a backdrop. She told us that she maintained her energy with “the family herbal mix”. It was the end of the working day and she still had time to dance with her eldest daughter and her friends.

Then she pulled out her famous herbal mix and our Ayurvedic doctors immediately recognised a couple of familiar herbs and spices. Pennywort can improve mental agility and help to keep your mind alert throughout the day. Cinnamon demonstrates numerous beneficial effects for the control of the digestion of sugar thereby helping to help with the long-lasting delivery of energy. Cinnamon seems to mimic the effect of insulin through increased glucose uptake in fat and muscle cells.

With her Pennywort and Cinnamon alone Sancha would be able to keep herself going but there were more herbs in her mix that were having a positive beneficial effect on her energy levels! 

She smiled and explained how the herbal mix had been passed down through generations of her family and her mother had passed it on to her.
