Protection of the liver by Holy Basil (Ocimum sanctum) against induced oxidative stress

The protective function of Holy Basil or Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) was investigated by Shah and Verma. The antioxidant activities of Holy basil are widely known and in certain cultures Holy Basil is used as an ingredient in natural medicines.

 

This study indicated that liver toxicity was induced by oxidative stress, and an anti-toxic effect of Holy Basil was mainly due to its antioxidative potency.

Holy Basil is a key ingredient used in CALM&RELAX and YOUNG&FUN recipes.
