Amla (E. officinalis): Cholesterol lowering benefits

June 16, 2012

Amla (Emblica officinalis) and its effect on lipids and cholesterol was studied by Koshy et al. Results, in animal model systems, showed that Amla decreased low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and increased HDL cholesterol. The authors suggest that Amla may be explored for its use in preventing dyslipidemia in postmenopausal women.

Amla is a key component in the Natural Drink SLIM&FIT – ideal for healthy weight management.
