Ginger: Antiinflammation – Pain Relief

July 15, 2012

Zingiber officinale R. rhizome (Ginger) is a popular spice that has traditionally been used to combat the effects of various inflammatory diseases in traditional medicine. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of ginger on pain relief in primary dysmenorrhea.

A randomized, controlled trial by Rahnama et al, showed that treatment of dysmenorrhea with ginger for 5 days had a statistically significant effect on relieving intensity and duration of pain.

Ginger has also been shown to alleviate muscle pain in previous studies.

Ginger is a key ingredient in The Wise Herb Company health drinks: CALM&RELAX, SLIM&FIT and UP&GO.
