Green tea drinking and risk of pancreatic cancer

September 11, 2012

Multiple tea drinking habits and the risk of pancreatic cancer were studied in a large scale investigation (A large-scale, population-based case-control study) on nearly 2000 patients by Wang et al.

It was found that for women, Green Tea drinking reduced pancreatic cancer risk by 32% compared to those who did not drink tea regularly.

Interestingly, among regular tea consumers, lower temperature of tea was associated with reduced risk of pancreatic cancer in both men and women, independent of amount or duration of tea drinking.

The scientists conclude that regular Green Tea drinking may lower pancreatic cancer risk.
