Herbs, Spices, SLIM&FIT and Weight Management

October 7, 2012

You need to lead a healthy lifestyle as well as making some other adjustments (e.g. Diet and exercise) to control weight. There are no magic bullets as we have said on several occasions on this webpage and others – quick fixes with long terms positive effects don’t exist. SLIM&FIT will work as part of an overall lifestyle change to help support your weight loss goals and support you over a period of time to achieve a healthy weight. We use a combination of natural healthy herbs and spices, based on Ayurvedic recipes, that have been used for thousands of years to help maintain health.

We are always happy to see the scientific results that support our natural ingredients and add more credence to the Ayurvedic science. Modern science is fast catching up with the old ways and in we have seen before our herbs & spices like Ginger, Green Tea, Garcinia and Caralluma amongst others can help control weight.

Green Tea

In this latest study Forester et al, studies how the administration of Green Tea catechin (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) effected blood glucose levels after the ingestion of corn starch, maltose, sucrose, & glucose in a fasting animal model system. Their data suggest that EGCG reduces blood glucose levels and this may be due to the inhibition of α-amylase. Amylaseis an enzyme that hydrolyses alpha bonds of large, alpha-linked polysaccharides and turns them into glucose. This could also have a profound effect on fat levels in the body.
