Cinnamon and Blood Pressure

August 1, 2013

The administration of cinnamon on blood pressure regulation in patients with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes was studied by Akilen et al.

The scientific literature was reviewed for randomized controlled trials on the effect of cinnamon on blood pressure.

The research has demonstrated the effect of cinnamon intake on systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP). The use of cinnamon significantly decreased SBP and DBP.

In conclusion, the consumption of cinnamon is associated with a notable reduction in SBP and DBP.

Cinnamon shows hopeful effects on Blood Pressure lowering potential. The results suggest a longer-term study to appraise the clinical potential of cinnamon on Blood Pressure control among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.  Cinnamon is a key ingredient in the products handcrafted by The Wise Herb Company.
