Ginger Compound and Anti-Cancer Effect

The cell toxicity of hexahydrocurcumin, a compound found in Ginger,  and its effect on the cell cycle in human cancer cells was investigated by Chen et al.

The compound, extracted from Zingiber officinale, was shown to be cytotoxic to colorectal cancer cells.   This cell toxicity effect may be an extremely efficient tool in cancer prevention for the future.
